The Babylon Testnet will be live soon. Here is what you need to know.
The Babylon Chain Bitcoin Staking Testnet is built on BTC Signet (testnet) not Bitcoin mainnet. In this testnet, two wallet will be used Okx wallet and Kepler preferably.
Upcoming Testnet Benefit
Those who participate in the testnet and stake any amount of Signet Bitcoin will secure a Bitcoin Pioneer Pass NFT. Each pass will have a unique user number and you can tag it as a soul bound. This nft Pass will be collected on a Polygon Mainnet wallet.
Note that this Pass will be limited and in my opinion it will be very useful for any future benefits.
The claim period for this will start when the Testnet goes live in 4–5 days at the time of writing. All you need is to complete the Testnet task and claim your Pioneer Pass NFT. The claiming will end 7 days after launch, endeavor to act fast.
Participating In The testnet
The Testnet isn’t live yet. Nonetheless, you need to get few things ready. The faucet and Wallet is very important factor to note.
You need to get OKX Wallet extension and Kepler wallet as well. Both will be needed
Setting Up your. OKX Wallet for Babylon Chaim Testnet
Create a New Wallet or Import an existing one
In your wallet page, Click on Manage Crypto
Use the search box and search the keyword sBTC. Choose the BTC Signet
Add it to your list. Now, click on sBTC adding to view the address
Click on the tool at the upper right corner
Choose Native Segwit — Address should start from tb1q
Afterwards copy your address and proceed to the Faucet : https://signetfaucet.com/
Paste your wallet address. Input 0.01 and complete captcha
Now you’ve gotten your first faucet ready.
Setting up your Kepler Wallet and Faucet
Install Kepler Extension. Create or Import your wallet.
Proceed to : https://chains.keplr.app/
Search Babylon Chain Testnet then Add to Kepler
After Adding Ensure you add Chain Visibility for Babylon Testnet. You can now view your BBN tokens.
Afterwards, Copy your BBN Address and head to Discord Faucet channel and claim a faucet.
Moreso, when verifying your discord, ensure you choose all five icons to see the proper channels
After claiming your faucet, you can view your tokens in your Kepler wallet.
This are the necessary task needed for the upcoming Testnet. Get your faucet ready.
