Modular Blockchains Is The Next Narrative ! — Be Early

Paying more attention to Modular world as it develops and grow stronger into next year. Virtual Machines and Modular Blockchain will be taking over 2023/2025 with various projects popping up now

Just Like the popularity of L2 Scaling options in 2022/2024.

This new Modular narrative makes it possible to explore Various possibility in Blockchain. It is becoming an obvious monumental shift from EVM. This development will also make it easy to onboard new developers who have no idea of Solidity into Blockchain and crypto sector.

Lots of projects have been building on this technology for quite sometime but yet to publicize.

Following the successful launch of Celestial Mainnet. Most project have started to adopt this technology.

Let’s shed some light on Modular Blockchains

What are Modular Blockchain ?

Modular Blockchain are specialized Blockchain. Thus, it is created for one or two task only.

Unlike other Blockchain ( Monolithic). Celestial is a Data availability focused Blockchain only which other Blockchain can build on.

Celestia is a minimal blockchain that only orders and publishes transactions but does not execute them. More like Cloud computing for web 3.

This means Celestia requires a Settlement and Execution Layer to become a whole Blockchain.

This brings us to Monolithic Chains

Monolithic Blockchain is obviously the first Blockchain concept that was adopted. This involves a Blockchain that does everything all by itself including node processing, Data availability, transaction processing, etc. Examples are Solana, Aptos and Sui.

This is what Modular World aim to solve by splitting this functionality on different Blockchain, where by a Blockchain has a focused purpose. Combining few of this modular chain will achieve a functional Blockchain called Modular Stack.

Let’s take MantaNetwork as a case study

Transactions is more cheaper and faster on Manta Network Unlike other Layer 2, It leverages on Celestial by using the Polygon CDK to drastically reduce gas fees through Celestia DA and increase security through Ethereum consensus.

Manta Modular Stack

⚙️Execution - Manta Universal Circuit

🪧 Settlement - Polygon CDK

👾 Consensus - Ethereum

📜 Data Availability - Celestial

A Perfect Example of A Modular L2 Blockchain

Although, there are scaling solutions such as Arbitrum, Optimism and Zksync but the data availability on these scaling solutions relies on Ethereum.

Ethereum gas fee is still expensive, explaining why gas fees on Layer 2 can be high.

We can see different project now build extensively.

Fuel Network is building an Execution Layer Network just like Celestia built a Data Availability Layer

Modular Network Builders might start adopting Cartesi Project.

Other Project building Modular Compatible Technology.

Dymension Is building a Rollup Settlement Layer

Movement Lab, Aztec Network, Polygon Miden, RiscZero and few more are all building technologies on Modular Networks

Leveraging on highly potential new projects may also bring opportunity for Early rewards, Developer Opportunities and various chances.
